Hillary Clinton said Secretary of State Mike Pompeo should have been 'one of the first people' to correct Trump's behavior during the Ukraine call

Image
Mark Sagliocco/Getty Images In an interview on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," Former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton reacted to reports that current Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was on the July 25 call with the Ukrainian president along with President Donald Trump. Clinton said that calls to foreign leaders are usually "highly prepared," as several departments meet and compile talking points for the president to refer to while on the call. However, Clinton said she believes that was not the case with the Ukraine call because "you've got a president who doesn't listen to anybody and doesn't follow instructions whatsoever." Clinton said Pompeo should have been "one of the very first people" to "clean up" the conduct of Trump's call with Ukraine. Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories . 'Get over it': Hillary Clinton says voters need to focus on getting Trump out of the White House, and not the allegations of Joe Biden's controversial interactions with women

Image
AP Photo/Mel Evans Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton defended former Vice President and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden amid previous reports of what some allege to be behavior with women that make them uncomfortable. "For goodness' sake, I'm sorry, I have to jump in because I've heard a little bit about that," Clinton said when asked about the appeal of his candidacy amongst women, during an interview PEOPLE magazine last week. "We can pick apart anybody," Clinton said. "I mean, that's a great spectator sport." "But this man who's there in the Oval Office right now poses a clear and present danger to the future of the United States," Clinton added, referring to President Donald Trump. "So get over it." Google is working on an app that detects car accidents and automatically calls 911

Image
Photo by Bodo Marks/picture alliance via Getty Images The Apple Watch’s fall detection has already been credited with saving lives, and now Google is applying that sort of thinking to car safety. According to XDA Developers , Google is at work on a Personal Safety app with “car crash detection.” With the help of various sensors including the accelerometer and even the microphone, Pixel phones will attempt to detect an accident. If one occurs, the phone will loudly sound an alarm, and if there’s no response, it will automatically call 911 and provide your location to emergency services. XDA Developers managed to catch a Play Store listing that Google posted prematurely, which included several screenshots of the Personal Safety app. Based on those images, people will have more than one... You don’t need Dyson’s $649 Pure Cryptomic air purifier to get formaldehyde out of your house

Image
Dyson’s latest air purifier, the Pure Cryptomic, can eliminate formaldehyde that’s floating around in your home. It’s the main selling point that distinguishes this model from the presently-available Pure Cool and Pure Hot + Cool, which can only capture formaldehyde, not destroy it. But before you drop $649 on a formaldehyde-fighting device there are a few things that you should know. First, it is almost guaranteed that there is formaldehyde in your home. Formaldehyde is just about everywhere . It’s a chemical that’s found in your body, in the environment, and in furniture and wood products. Major pharmacy retailers pull heartburn medication Zantac from shelves after FDA detects carcinogens in samples of drug

Image
Wilfredo Lee/AP Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid announced they are pulling the heartburn medication Zantac and other generic versions from their shelves, citing reports from the Food and Drug Administration of a cancer-causing contaminant in samples of the drug earlier this month. The FDA detected low levels of nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), which is a type of nitrosamine, in samples of the heartburn drug. Nitrosamines can increase a person's risk for cancer and are believed to be carcinogenic to humans. While major pharmacy retailers are pulling the heartburn medication from their shelves, the companies that make the drug — including Sanofi, which makes brand-name Zantac — have yet to recall it. In the dual-class shares debate, the big exchanges should get off the sidelines

Adam Neumann’s fall from grace was astonishingly swift once his company, WeWork, filed to go public in August. Even while his spending was fairly well-documented across time (as were his apparent conflicts of interest ), he was humiliated for enriching himself, then ultimately kicked out of the corner office before the company, in the least surprising turn of events in recent weeks, today yanked its S-1 registration. Neumann never exactly hid who he is or how he operates, so what suddenly sparked the ire of reporters — and investors — around the world? What, exactly, in an ultimately unsurprising IPO filing had people coughing up their morning coffee? Boiled down to the worst offense (including selling his own company the trademark “We” for $5.9 million in stock ) was very likely the lock on control that Neumann had set up through a multi-class voting structure that aimed to cement his control. And by ‘cement,’ we mean he would enjoy overwhelming control for not just for 5 or 10 year...
