Bank of America lays out the exact scenario that could finally pop the stock market's AI bubble

Image
Spencer Platt/Getty Images Bank of America says the ongoing "anything but bonds" bull market has led to a very top-heavy stock market. The firm is watching real 10-year yields and credit spreads for signals of when that AI-led rally could end. BofA says higher yields and tighter spreads could sound recession alarms and spur a stock sell-off. Bank of America has coined a phrase for what's going on in markets right now, calling it an "anything but bonds" bull run. The firm notes that in the fourth quarter of 2023, stocks and crypto led the way. In the first three months of 2024, it was commodities and... well, still crypto. And so far in the second quarter it's been the US dollar's time to shine.  While this has been lucrative for well-positioned traders across asset classes, BofA warns it's a byproduct of immense government spending, and could end up unwinding if a few key conditions are met. The key piece is the cohort of mega-cap tech c

High inflation could be here to stay as commodity prices spike again after a 2-year decline, World Bank says

Image
Inflation could see a resurgence in 2025, BlackRock strategists warned. Jonathan Kitchen/Getty Images High inflation will stay for longer as commodity prices rallied again after falling for two years, World Bank Group says. The bank expects global inflation to jump by a solid percentage point by 2024 due to the flip-flop oil prices driven by geopolitical risks. The multilateral lender also predicts Gold to surge to a record high in 2024, then ease off a bit in 2025. High inflation could be with us for a while as a key deflationary force wanes, the World Bank Group said,  The World Bank said in a report on Thursday that the two-year decline in global commodity prices has come to a halt, and an escalation of conflict in the Middle East has reversed the downward trend in inflation.  The report said commodity prices had dropped by roughly 40% between mid-2022 and mid-2023, bringing the global inflation rate down around by two percentage points over the past two years. However,

She was mailed an eerie anonymous drawing that she believed was "related to abortion." It turned out it was marketing for "The First Omen" a film about the birth of the antichrist. Amanda Taylor gets a lot of mail. The Missouri-based mom has spent the last few years establishing herself as a film blogger and recently turned her hand to politics, meaning her mailbox is full of promotional materials from film studios and leaflets concerning local issues. But when Taylor, who is running for the state's House of Representatives as a Democratic Party candidate picked up her mail in late March and opened an envelope to find nothing but what appeared to be a children's drawing, her mind went into overdrive. Why? Well, the crudely

Zelenskyy said Ukrainians are fighting so that the US and others don't have to. Once passed by the Senate and signed by Biden, ammo and weapons could reach Ukraine in days. Americans may be fatigued by the war in Ukraine, but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reminded them on Sunday that at least they don't have to fight in it. The Ukrainian president's comments came Sunday morning on "Meet the Press" on NBC News, just one day after the House of Representatives approved a long-awaited aid package for Ukraine. Zelenskyy spoke with NBC's Kristen Welker. He said the United States is "protecting democracy" in Europe. "The Americans are not funding the war in Ukraine. They are foremost protecting freedom and democracy all over Europe. And Ukrai

Budget cuts to two major financial aid programs could affect over 100,000 soldiers. Talks of budget cuts coincide with a time where Army recruitment is falling short of its goals. The US Army is considering making reductions to two key financial assistance programs that promote higher education, something which has long been a selling point for military service. Potential budget cuts to the Army's Credential Assistance and Tuition Assistance programs could impact over 100,000 soldiers, policy experts recently told Inside Higher Education. Army Secretary Christine Wormuth told the House of Representatives last week that budget chang

I stayed at Disney World's most expensive hotel that costs $900 a night. Here's what it was like and why it was worth every penny.

I stayed at the deluxe Grand Floridian Resort at Disney World. Jenna Clark I stayed at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, where rooms cost $900 a night on average. I'd definitely stay again for its deluxe amenities, fireworks view, and proximity to Magic Kingdom. The "Mary Poppins"-themed rooms were beautiful and the most spacious I've seen at Disney World. Even though I only live a couple of minutes from Disney World , I still enjoy a staycation. I was very excited to reserve a stay at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.  My first and only other stay at this resort was more than 10 years ago on a family vacation, so I was looking forward to seeing the recently refurbished guest rooms that were part of the company's property-wide renovations tied to its 50th-anniversary celebration in 2023. I booked a one-night stay in a standard room that typically costs about $900 a night. But the resort also has larger suites and villas that
