  • Amazon Prime Student is half the cost of a standard membership, and includes a free six-month trial.
  • Prime Student includes trial offers from LinkedIn Premium, Course Hero, and Calm.
  • It lasts four years or until your listed graduation date, whichever comes first.

Amazon Prime Student offers all of the benefits of Prime membership but at half of the cost. It even includes extra perks like free trials from LinkedIn Premium, GrubHub Plus, Course Hero, and Calm. Here's how to qualify and sign up.

How to sign up for Amazon Prime Student

To switch your membership or sign up for Amazon Prime Student, you'll need a valid .edu email. Navigate to the Prime Student page and login or sign up.

From there, Amazon will ask for an intended graduation year. If you're an active student with access to your university email, this offer is open to you.

If you don't have a .edu email address, you can sign up using an alternate form of proof of enrollment like a school ID card or an up-to-date transcript.

How much does Amazon Prime Student cost?

Amazon Prime Student costs $7.49 a month, after a free six-month trial. That's half the monthly cost of a normal Prime membership ($15/month).

Qualifying existing Prime members can also switch to the cheaper Student plan — they'll just receive a refund for the remaining months left on their current Prime subscription.

JPMorgan estimates that an Amazon Prime membership is actually worth $785 annually. We consider a standard Amazon Prime subscription to be an excellent deal, but the discounted rate and benefits offered to Amazon Prime Students make it a no-brainer.
