Nearly two years since Yellowstone Season 5 premiered, the series has returned to air the long-awaited final episodes of the season. Having trouble recalling what happened? Remembering where to watch Yellowstone might be even harder. Fortunately, we've compiled everything you need to know about tuning in.

First premiering in 2018, Yellowstone follows the Duttons, a family of Montana ranchers who have been operating since 1883. At the helm of the clan is John Dutton III (Kevin Costner), a grizzled patriarch joined by his three living children — Beth (Kelly Reilly), Jamie (Wes Bentley), and Kayce (Luke Grimes) — and foreman Rip (Cole Hauser), along with other ranch hands and various adversarial figures who crop up throughout the series. Built in the same vein as Succession, the show is a Western at heart and trades Succession's board rooms for acres of coveted ranch land.

While Costner has been the undeniable fixture on which the show hangs itself, his time at the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch has come to an end. Questions surrounding his return have cropped up in the show's two-year hiatus, and Costner gave a definitive hint that he wouldn't be returning on Instagram in June. The midseason premiere grapples with this departure and sets the tone for the remainder of the season, which was announced as the series finale back in 2023, although questions surrounding the finality of the show have arisen in recent months.

If you're hoping to watch new episodes of Yellowstone, you should plan to watch them live (or tap into a live streaming service's DVR capabilities) since traditional on-demand streaming options are a bit complicated. We'll dig into that and more below.

What channel is Yellowstone on?

Yellowstone airs on the Paramount Network in the US. New episodes are broadcast on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET, starting with the premiere on November 10. CBS aired the premiere on a two-hour delay at 10 p.m. ET that same night, although it was a stand-alone premiere event and won't happen every week.

Where to watch Yellowstone live in the US

Viewers hoping to watch new episodes of Yellowstone will most likely want to catch them live or ensure that they have a solid DVR option available through their cable or live TV streaming service, since the on-demand streaming options are a bit murky. Peacock is the on-demand streaming home of Yellowstone (not Paramount Plus), but Peacock doesn't typically get the episodes the next day, as is the case with most other shows. Instead, Peacock usually uploads Yellowstone episodes after the entire batch (a season, or in this case, a half-season) finishes airing. For example, Part 1 of Season 5 finished airing on the Paramount Network in January 2023, but Peacock didn't get those eight episodes until May 2023.

If your cable package doesn't include the Paramount Network, or you're a cord-cutter looking for a way to live stream the channel, you'll need to subscribe to a live TV streaming package. Philo, Sling TV, DirecTV Stream, and Fubo are some of our favorite month-to-month options that grant access to the Paramount Network and allow subscribers to DVR content. Additionally, most of the services should have the new episodes in their temporary on-demand offerings after they air, so it's not the end of the world if you forget to record.

Philo is the cheapest way to watch the Paramount Network and the new season of Yellowstone. The live streaming service costs $28/month and comes with a one-week free trial. Philo carries the Paramount Network, AMC, Lifetime, MTV, and about 70 other live channels.

Although it's not quite as cheap as Philo, Sling TV is another of the more affordable live TV streaming services with access to Paramount Plus. You'll need to subscribe to a base plan, like Sling Orange or Sling Blue (both plans cost $40/month), and opt-in for the Entertainment Extra add-on (which costs $6/month). In total, this will cost subscribers $46/month, but Sling is almost always running a promo that will knock about $20 off your first month of service. The service carries other popular channels, including CNN, TNT, and AMC.

Yellowstone fans looking to live stream Paramount Network and tons of other channels, DirecTV Stream and Fubo are the way to go. With subscriptions starting at $87/month (DirecTV Stream) and $80/month (Fubo), these are definitely among the more expensive services, but they're great options for people looking for cable replacements. DirecTV Stream's base Entertainment plan includes the Paramount Network and 90+ other live channels, including everything you'd find in a standard cable package. Fubo offers even more channels, with the base Pro plan carrying 150+ options, but there are a few key channels missing, including TNT, CNN, and AMC. DirecTV Stream has a five-day free trial and Fubo offers a one-week free trial and $20 off your first month of service.

Where to watch past seasons of Yellowstone in the US

As we mentioned above, Peacock is the on-demand streaming home of Yellowstone. The streaming service currently offers the first four seasons and the first part of Season 5. While there's no exact date for when the rest of Season 5 will become available on Peacock, it will most likely be after the season has finished airing. Subscriptions start at $8/month, but you can upgrade to Peacock Premium Plus for $14/month to watch Yellowstone ad-free.

Where to watch Yellowstone in Canada

All episodes of Yellowstone are available to stream on Paramount Plus in Canada. New Season 5 episodes will start dropping on November 10, right around the same time that the season premieres in the US. Subscriptions cost CA$7/month and include a seven-day free trial.

Where to watch Yellowstone in the UK

Yellowstone is available to stream in full on Paramount Plus in the UK. The Season 5 premiere will arrive on November 11. Subscriptions cost £7/month and come with a seven-day free trial.

How to watch Yellowstone anywhere

Viewers traveling away from home can still keep up with the show via their subscription services, thanks to the help of a VPN. Short for virtual private networks, VPNs are easy-to-use cybersecurity tools that enable people to change the virtual location of their electronic devices. This way, people can use their usual websites and apps from anywhere, just like they would back home. Since the services we've recommended require country-specific payment methods, this option will work best for those who are simply traveling abroad. Our go-to recommendation is ExpressVPN, a user-friendly VPN with a 30-day money-back guarantee and tons of other perks, which we highlight in our ExpressVPN review.

How to watch Yellowstone prequels

So, where does Paramount Plus come into play in the US? The streaming service carries every episode of the Yellowstone prequels, 1883 and 1923. Subscriptions start at $8/month for ad-supported viewing in the Essential tier, but you can upgrade to the Paramount Plus with Showtime plan to watch everything ad-free for $13/month. The streaming service offers a one-week free trial for all plans, including annual subscriptions. If you're in the UK or Canada, the Paramount Plus viewing option you use to watch Yellowstone will also work for 1883 and 1923.

Will there be more Yellowstone?

That's the question on everyone's minds, and much like the viewing options, the answer is complicated. In May 2023, the Paramount Network announced Season 5 would be the show's last. Later, after it was announced that the final episodes were pushed back a year amid the dual SAG and WGA strikes and other behind-the-scenes factors, two spinoffs were announced: 1944 and 2024. 2024 has since been renamed The Madison, per Variety, and will serve as another contemporary installment in the Yellowstone franchise, although details are being kept under wraps.

In August, Variety reported that a sixth season of Yellowstone with Reilly and Hauser (Beth and Rip) at the helm was potentially in talks, although nothing has been officially confirmed. Christina Voros, the director of the majority of the Season 5 Part 2 episodes, recently told The Hollywood Reporter that the secrecy surrounding the episodes had the vibe that they were "protecting a conclusion," although she said that she doesn't know what the future holds.

Regardless, the back half of Season 5 will definitely include six new episodes of Dutton family drama. A second and final season of 1923, the Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren-led prequel, is also officially in the works. A 6666 spinoff, about the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas, was also announced a few years ago, but little information has come to light since.

Yellowstone trailer

Yellowstone dropped a trailer for the new episodes in late October. The trailer, which is a little over a minute long, gives a glimpse of some of the action viewers can expect this season. Although clips of Kevin Costner as John Dutton are shown, the focus is on the rest of the Dutton family. "Everyone's forgotten who runs this valley," Dutton tells Rip at the beginning of the video. "Time to remind them." The trailer gives no indication of how Costner might be written out or the exact plot lines that will come into play, but you can check it out yourself below.
